POWER5/POWER6におけるCPU利用環境の設定方法を扱う。

Shared Processor †

10msでスケジューリング.

• CPU利用時間の制限
  • capped
  • uncapped
    「Weight scale（0〜255）」を指定し最大割り当て時間を超えたCPU利用が可能。優先順位はWeight scaleによる。(数字が大きいほど優先順位高)

Simulataneous Multi-Threading (SMT) †

CPUの空き時間を利用して複数のThreadを実行する機能。物理プロセッサおよび論理プロセッサ双方に設定可能である。

• SMTの状態表示

  # smtctl
  
  This system is SMT capable.
  SMT is currently enabled.
  SMT boot mode is set to enabled.
  SMT threads are bound to the same physical processor. 
  
  proc0 has 2 SMT threads.
  Bind processor 0 is bound with proc0
  Bind processor 1 is bound with proc0

• SMTの有効化

  # smtctl -m on
  smtctl: SMT is now enabled. It will persist across reboots if
          you run the bosboot command before the next reboot.

• SMTの無効化

  # smtctl -m off
  smtctl: SMT is now disabled. It will persist across reboots if
          you run the bosboot command before the next reboot.

• Bootイメージの再作成
  SMTの設定を変更した場合、bootイメージの再作成が必要となる。

  # bosboot -a
